Solo Art Exhibition

Fortitude Valley, Brisbane – October 10-23, 2024 – Brisbane artist Giovanna Scott is set to unveil her latest exhibition, "A {not so} Still Life: Unravelling the Art of Motion," at Studio on Brunswick in California Lane, Fortitude Valley. This captivating collection will be on display from October 10-23, 2024, with special events taking place on weekends.

The exhibition will officially kick off with an Opening Night on Friday, October 11, offering guests the first opportunity to experience Giovanna's dynamic new works in an intimate setting.

Giovanna's latest body of work challenges the traditional concept of still life through an innovative fusion of painted paper collages and machine stitching. The exhibition title, "A {not so} Still Life," captures the essence of the artist's approach—each piece is alive with movement, thanks to the deliberate use of loose threads that defy the stillness typically associated with the genre. These threads represent the dynamic interplay between stability and change, mirroring the artist's own experiences as she navigates the ever-shifting landscape of life and creativity.

Giovanna's work, known for its bold colours and intricate details, invites viewers into a world where objects seem to pulse with energy, refusing to be confined by the boundaries of the canvas. The collages, stitched together with care, tell stories that are at once personal and universal, reflecting the ongoing journey of the artist's life and work.

"A {not so} Still Life: Unravelling the Art of Motion" is more than an exhibition; it's an exploration of the delicate balance between order and chaos, stillness and movement. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this unique collection that redefines what it means for art to be "still."
