…..yes, that’s the trick, you MUST write it down…..
Dreams will come true
This week I got confirmation to submit work to a great, fab, awesome group exhibition.
The owners of the Art & Design Precinct are committed to emerging local artists and it’s a real honour to be chosen for this exhibition. The theme “Fortune 500” relates to the dimensions and price of the artwork. All is 500x500mm or under, priced at $500 or less. So I can guarantee there will be some fabulous, affordable, unique art in this exhibition.
When friends would comment on why I do so many of these Art-Biz-type coaching courses, I guess the answer is simple.
I need the direction.
I didn’t grow up in a creative environment. Any creativity I did have, wasn’t nurtured; in fact at times I felt like wanting to pursue that life was an intrusion to more important things – like working in a bank just until I got married.
So I need someone with absolutely no vested interest in my happiness and general well-being to say I can do this; to say I have talent; to say I can make Art, be successful and (God forbid) actually derive an income from a creative life. I need my little creative cohorts to love me just enough to not hurt my feelings, but intelligent enough to give constructive criticism.
It’s about the Ego, self-love and confidence to go forward. To no longer give the critics and nasty-Nellies any air time or space in my head or heart is a relief. I feel now the art speaks for itself and my art on other people’s walls is a sufficient response.
Well, I’m off to pack these beauties in the car and head on over.

Gigi… I am with you it is really really hard to put yourself out there, I feel sick everytime I venture into thinking what if? I am not a marketer, I want to paint and create Irun out of enthusiasm with the online stuff ( I need a secretary…. but I need to give it a go first)
Gigi you rock and have such an enormous talent I think you will nail it you just have to take the leap and believe in yourself, because there is enough of us in your wings that believe in you….

Love you Naomi. Some people are naturals and some need to really work on it….myself included. I find it easier to promote other people rather than my own, but one day you just have to decide to back yourself. You’ll get there….your artwork is so sweet, who wouldn’t like it? xx
