The Good Student – “Supplies Me”

This year is my year to be a “good student”.
This year I promised to learn to draw….properly.
Really, truly P.R.O.P.E.R.L.Y….

I’ve had an “art-crush” on Jane Davenport for a few years now, so when the planets aligned I signed up for her “Supplies Me” online workshop.

Honestly, I didn’t hold out too much hope for MYself and my ability to actually, seriously D.R.A.W. Too many failed attempts at high school in the portraiture unit, so I continually short-cut the process and stylized every image possible.

I posted this screen print a while back. Produced waaaaay back in 1983 (I guess before some of you were born LOL)

See. No facial detail whatsoever.
Hence the attraction to artists like Christy Tomlinson who also avoided the details.

Anyway, I digress……

JANE DAVENPORT has taught me how to –
DRAW FACES

(yeah, still a long way to go, but at least the process has begun)

COMBINE MY LOVE OF MIXED MEDIA WITH COLOURED PENCIL DRAWINGS

DRAW, SHADE, LAUGH AND ENJOY EVERY LESSON…

Worth absolutely every single cent. Her professionalism and infectious energy does not waver for one second of every video. Her knowledge of the human figure and just about every know art supply on the planet is extensive and informative. Jane provides feedback on homework upload to the site which is thorough and constructive. The weekly lessons are comprehensive without being overwhelming.

I feel like she should have been my Art Teacher at school.
If you are looking for a class experience like this one, go to her WEBSITE to learn more, and tell her I sent you 😉

xx Giovanna
p.s. off to finish my homework and catch up on a few weeks LOL
p.p.s. unlike school, I won’t get punished for falling behind

  1. Hi Giovanna, you have convinced me!! I just signed up with a view to progressing onto I Heart Drawing afterwards… it was the swimmers that did it – I could do with a laugh 😉

    1. Yay Mandy!!! Saw you’d been accepted to the class a little earlier today 🙂 and left you a message.
Not sure if I Heart Drawing is for me yet. Maybe the Artini mini classes will do….or perhaps I like it because it sounds like Martini LOL.
      xx Gi
