This is my last month as 123 Challenge Creative Team member, so here it is……
criteria are:
colour=purple;
word=my;
technique=chevron
I’ve been taking the 123 Challenges since 2007. Click HERE to see my very first 123 Challenge entry.
The concept renewed my love of papercrafting back in the day when online forums were in their infancy and challenge sites were restricted to a couple of Scrapbooking Sketch sites; creativity was stifled with all the acid-free and lignin-free “rules”; embellishments were very naive and downright ugly; shop owners were reluctant to stock any male-themed items other than teddy bears and baby-blue and no-one really appreciated my need to distress everything….and I mean “everything”!
But the community around 123 Challenge did.
Although the format has changed slightly from it’s original concept to encompass ALL types of papercrafting (scrapbooking, art journaling, mixed media, canvas, off the page), the foundation of mutual admiration and support for each and every entry remains. Since moving from Blogger to WordPress, I’ve had difficulty commenting on the mostly Blogger blogs (that comment verification box is a nightmare – sorry), but I wonder if these entrants know how much I admire their ability to take the 3 criteria and create truly exceptional and unique entries?
It will feel strange not posting each month, but Charmane and I have been chatting online about 123 Challenge for so many years now, I doubt she will ever allow me to really “leave”. She has become a dear friend and she is an amazing, talented business woman too. The time has come, however, to re-prioritise just about every facet of my life: the business, the family, the kids, the state of this house (OMG!) and fine-tune time management.
That includes focusing more on this blog.
I love blogging.
I love writing.
I really do.
Anyhoo, enough blubbering! Please check out the 123 Challenge for this month. Charmane has assembled a fab new Creative Team that oozes diversity and talent!!
And if you’re really keen, run through the archives!
My goodness, look how far we’ve all come!
xx
