Going Green Art Competition

I’m so very excited/nervous/pleased to be an entrant in the Drawing Point’s Going Green Competition!

Market Girl - skirt detail
Market Girl - flower bunch detail

The competition is open to only 25 artists and we had to interpret the theme of the comp, being provided with only a 60x60cm canvas and a tube of Atelier Interactive Permanent Green Light (Series 2).
First hurdle – the sheer SIZE of the canvas. This is the biggest area I’ve covered to date and man, was it intimidating!!
Second hurdle – incorporating the theme and colour. Most of my work is really spontaneous, so to have a couple of criteria was challenging. I decided to combine the concept of a “green/eco” type girl with the colour as a support feature. I reckon I pulled it off 😉

I have certainly RISEN to the occasion – in keeping with my “word” for this year!
Opening Night jitters are already starting! Here are the details if you want to have a look:

I hope you can make it, spread the word, and I will be revealing more of the canvas after Opening Night.
