Art Journaling Sunday

I bought 2 blank Mixed Media books with the plan to do some “play art” in between work for my biz and commitments at Scrapbook Creations magazine. Well, that was a good PLAN. And like all good plans, the execution of such, never quite pans out as the reality of life sqeezes in.

However, today I ignored my family (in the nicest possible way), in fact, I didn’t ignore them as much as setting them up to leave me alone for a while! Quite a different connotation!!!

Here is a sneak of the first page I did

art journal sneak peek

which is for November’s 123 Challenge. So wait you must. And hurry yourself to get the October challenge done!!

The next is what I did with the left over paint (click on this image to get a better look)

just be you art journal page

just be you wings detail
just be you title
just be you journaling

And because I get a lot of questions about what materials I use, I’ll be giving you a pic of the “toolbox” for that piece of work. Here it is….

just be you toolbox items

I love making my own masks and stencils from my growing number of die-cut plates and tracing elements from papers such as clouds and hearts and birds and so on.

Of course, if you would like to know HOW I put it all together, you can do a number of things.
a) watch my videos on Vimeo (click on the Gist Creative tab up top)
b) take my “Strength and Beauty” canvas class (info in Gist Creative tab)
c) or hire me out LOL

I hope this has inspired you to get back to something FUN!! I’m trying hard to do that while the orders from the shop are coming in.

It’s such a great time to be alive!!
